Facing Africa

“Noma (cancrum oris) is an acute and ravaging gangrenous infection affecting the face. The victims of Noma are mainly children under the age of 6, caught in a vicious circle of extreme poverty and chronic malnutrition.”

Facing Africa is a small scale organisation run out of a small town in Wilthsire, South West England. Operated by Chris Lawrence this charity helps vistims of NOMA The victims are mainly from the poorer sections of society in these countries and are cut off from high end surgical reconstruction. Facing AFrica sends surgical teams, complete with equipment, to areas of Africa where they are needed. These teams see hundreds of patients during each visit, helping to literally rebuild faces, smiles and lives.

Mr Dan has been involved with Facing Africa for over 5 years now, raising nearly USD 30,000 in that time through 24 hr runs at previous schools and Ultra Running events. Thank you NISC for raising more for these deserving causes.
